Hello Again and welcome to another edition of Oven Fresh music Tuesday. Not A whole lot to look forward to this week but hopefully we can walk away with some good music. A brand new single by Thousand Foot Krutch is the highlight of the week along with a surprise new single from Panic! at the Disco. So Here We Go:
Albums:
Inward Eye - Throwing bricks instead of Kisses - This Album is a little different and that may be why I like it. Basically the only song to check out on this album is "Day After Day". It's a very catchy song. The rest is all hit and miss and nothing else really stands out but check out that song.
Memphis May Fire - Sleepwalking - A hardcore album. Usually I don't like hardcore but they mix enough melody in with it to catch my attention. I enjoyed the song "North Atlantic vs. North Carolina" a lot
Divine Heresy - Bringer of Plagues - Another Hardcore album. This has a speed metal sound to it but has some melody mixed in. I'm not strongly recommending this album at all but there is a little bit to it that is worth checking out. Try the track "Darkness Embedded"
Singles:
Stars of Track and Field - Racing Lights - This is a feel good song. A good song to listen to in the summer time. It's a little different than your usual catchy song but I recommend at least giving this one a try.
Panic! At The Disco - New Perspective - I was a little surprised to see that Panic had come out with a new single since I thought that this band was basically done for. But I'm glad they did because this is a really good single. Sounds a lot like their last album so If you were a fan of that then you will be a fan of this
Bowling For Soup - My Wena - If you ever want to be in a good mood just listen to this band. Nice punk/pop sound and always able to put a smile on your face. This is yet another great song by them and funny as hell too
Needtobreathe - Something Beautiful - This song is Something Beautiful. I love his voice and this band seems to always come out with beautiful melodies and ballads. This is a very good song you should check out.
Thousand Foot Krutch - Fire It Up - This is my highlight of the week. Another kick ass song by a band this is slowly becoming one of my favorite bands. You will be seeing this song high on my hard rock songs of the year countdown. Maybe it can make a good run towards the top five. This is an album I truly can't wait to purchase the day it comes out.

Oven Fresh New Music Tuesday!!! (7/21/09)
It's time once again to see all of the new music coming out this week. I didn't have much expectation going into this week but let's take a look at some good stuff this week had to offer.
Albums:
Civil Twilight - Civil Twilight - I'm only recommending this album because I really like the song "Next to Me". The rest of the album is pretty damn boring. But check out that track because it's a very solid track.
RX Bandits - Mandala - This album has a very unique sound to it. I guess I would consider it to be Ska-punk. I'm not sure how they classify this kind of music but I find myself enjoying it. If you want to hear something a little different then check out this album
Dope Stars Inc. - 21st Century Slave - Sounds like an electronic Hard Rock band. Very fun to listen to and I love the sound. You might be seeing them on my yearly countdown very soon. Check out the songs "21st Century slave" and "It's Today".
Modern Day Escape - House of Rats - This band has a little hint of emo to them. They mix some screaming with a little bit of punk sound to it. I really like the track "Corpse Masquerade"
Set Your Goals - This Will be The Death of Us - A Good punk Band. They have pretty catchy songs. Check out the track "Look Closer"
Lovehammers - Heavy Crown - I recommended the song "Guns" on an earlier post. This band has a very good Rock sound to them. I still think Guns is the best track but the release of this album provided some very good tracks like "Your Time, My Time" and "Neverfall"
Our Lady Peace - Burn Burn - I Feel like I haven't hear from this band in many many years. This is a pretty decent album. It's not as good as their older stuff but I really like the track "All YOu did was save my LIfe"
Singles:
Five For Fighting - Chances - If You are a fan of this band then you should be a fan of this song because it sounds just like a typical FVF song. It's not quite as catchy as their big hits but it's still catchy and worth a listen.
Drowning Pool - Shame - I can honestly say that I'm starting to like this band better with their new lead singer. I love his voice. This is a good hard rock song and it kinda sounds a little bit like old school Alice in Chains
Vertical Horizon - Save Me From Myself - Another old school band. I like this song but it is nothing amazing. If you want to check it out go ahead but it isn't going to blow you away or anything.
Five Finger Death Punch - Hard To See - Usually I don't like a lot of songs by this band. They always seem like they have potential to be good but come up a little short. Again, this is a good song so I'm recommending it but I'm just waiting for them to come out with a great song some time.
So that's it for this week. We saw the return of some old school bands like Vertical Horizon and Our Lady Peace. The Lovehammers new albums sounds great and I'm really liking the new Drowning Pool. Check back next week for more new music and keep checking back as i continually update my songs to listen to and my top song charts.

Oven Fresh New Music Tuesday (7/14/09)
Welcome everyone to a new addition of Oven Fresh music. This week i'm looking forward to yet another single from Skillet called "Monster". Along with the release of Daughtry's second album. So let's get to it.
Albums:
Owl City - Ocean Eyes - This is the first album I'm recommending this week. This is kind of a stretch for me normally but i'm finding myself liking a lot of this album. Some songs sound way too electronic for me to like but songs like "Vanilla Twilight" and "The Bird and the Worm" are really catchy. The Bird and the Worm reminds me of a Relient K song. Not a hard rock band or anything but a pretty good album nonetheless.
Adelitas Way - Adelitas Way - I'm not in love with this band but it is pure solid modern rock. It reminds me a lot of Hinder. It's one of those albums that isn't going to wow you and it definately isn't anything you've never heard before. I really like the ballad "Last Stand" and other good songs include "Scream", "Invincible", "Hate Love", and "Dirty Little Thing". This band has a lot of potential in my eyes.
Surrogate - Popular Mechanics - This is a very alternative band. Kind of reminds me of The Secret machines at times. I'm not gonnna recommend this whole album but I figured I would let people know about it cause there are some highlights on it. I personally like the song "Exercise Machines"
Freakshow - Freakshow - Great Great old school hard rock guitar riffs. They sound like a Guns n Roses type of band. I recommend this album for the guitar riffs alone. Check out the song "Everyone"
Luce - Corner of the World - If you are a fan of melodic music, this is a pretty good album from what i've heard. I really like the song "Corner of the World" and the song "My Life Alone"
Daughtry - Leave This Town - When this guy (or band i should say) released their first album I refused to like it because of the fact that he was on American Idol and I really didn't like that at all. But their songs are just way too hard to ignore. Especially when "No Surprise" came out earlier this year and completely blew me away. I 100% recommend this album because very rarely will you ever hear a bad song by this band. I officially stop holding my grudge and bow down to you Mr. Daughtry. Definately check out the song "You Don't Belong"
Singles
69 Eyes - Dead Girls are Easy - I really really can't explain why I like this song. I really don't like the chorus that much. But there is so much power once that guitar kicks in after the chorus. I think you'll be seeing this one on my Hard Rock countdown in the future
Skillet - Monster - Basically if Skillet releases a single or an album, it is going to be on here cause I'll always know it's going to be a good song. Yet again they came out with another great hard rock song here. I don't like it as much as "Hero" but it is still a great song. Wouldn't expect anything less from this band.
So there you have it for this week. All in all I'm pleased with the music that has joined my life. I love Daughtry's new CD and I love Skillet's new single and I discovered a lot of bands that I didn't know before now like 69 Eyes, Freakshow, Adelitas Way, and Owl City. I'm going to enjoy these songs until a whole new batch of great music comes out next week. Keep checking back for me to add my last top songs list and updating all the other ones. Enjoy the music everyone

Changes and Updates
Today I added My Alternative Rock Songs of the Year Countdown. These were the songs that I felt were a little different and I had trouble really putting them in a category so I'm just going to call them alternative. I also Added one more track to the Hard Rock charts and that is Chevelle - Jars. This song debuts on the chart in the top 10!. I also added Green Day - 21 Guns, Better Than Ezra - Absolutely Still, and Blue October - My Never to the Soft Rock Countdown. Hopefully today I should have my biggest generic Rock songs of the year chart up. This one will take some time to decide the order but once this is up then all my charts will be complete! Then I will keep everyone updated whenever songs climb the charts or new songs are added to them. I plan on adding a lot of new songs as the year goes on. Last year I had about 400 - 500 songs. So there is a lot more to come and I'm excited about what this year had to offer.

2 Down, 2 To Go
As you can tell on the side, I finally got two of my top song lists up and running. i got the softer rock songs and the hard rock songs rated in order of quality. I have two more charts that I plan on putting up. One is A generic Rock chart for songs that aren't hard rock but aren't soft either. Somewhere in the middle. Then the last chart will be alternative, the songs That i just can't seem to put my finger on in terms of classifying them. These songs will be very unique ones.
One more bit of news. I was doing my browsing through Wikipedia and was shocked to find out that FM Static and Thousand Foot Krutch have the same lead singer. Props to him for some great music. I feel like I should have always known this but for some reason I just didn't lol.

Oven Fresh Music Tuesday (07/07/09)
Time for another edition of Oven Fresh Music Tuesday. I Guess This is technically my first version since it is the first one actually on Tuesday. Not a whole lot to look forward to this week. The highlight for me definately has to be Chevelle's new single. After going through all the albums and singles I realized there is an overwhelming amoung of horrible stuff out there that I just can't be going through all of them anymore. So I'm just going to list the ones that I recommend for this week. So Let's get this started:
Albums:
Billy Boy on Poison - Drama Junkie Queen - I Really like this band's sound a lot. I already was a big fan of their single "On My Way". They have a really alternative sound to them. I guess if your a fan of The Strokes or bands like Franz Ferdinand then this isn't a bad band to check out. I recommend it.
Faster Pussycat - Front Row for the Donkey Show - Hmmmmm I'm going to recommend this band just for the hell of it. I like it for reasons that I have no idea. Maybe because i heard so many crappy bands in a row. I don't highly recommend it but it's worth a try to look at.
Young Fresh Fellows - I Think This Is - They sound like a 60's band in my opinion. Ummm I find myself liking them a little bit. It's nothing amazing but i'm going to recommend it just to give it a try.
All time Low - Nothiong Personal - A Very nice breath of fresh air today. A catchy pop rock band. A lot like New Found Glory kind of Sound. I liked their previous album and the song "Six Feet Under The Stars". Check out the song "Lost in Stereo" on this album. and "Break Your Little Heart"
Singles:
Chevelle - Jars - This is the song I've been looking forward to this week and it didn't disappoint. A great song. Obviously I think they have had better but that just speaks to how great of a band this is. I highly recommend this song and you might just be seeing it on my top song countdowns that will be on this website very shortly.
Sadly....that will do it for this week. It wasn't an amazing week in music. I'm very happy that Chevelle released a single to save me from depression this week. I also must let people know that Paramore and The Arctic Monkeys also released singles this week. I didn't recommend them because I wasn't a big fan of them but I know they have a decent fan base so I thought I would let people know. Check back soon for my top song countdowns for 2009 and also check back next Tuesday for another edition of Oven Fresh Music Tuesday!

Finally Home
I'm finally home after a nice weekend of camping. It feels very refreshing to hear some rock music after a weekend full of hearing country music. I'll give country music credit though, It is really easy to fall asleep to. I'm excited about checking out all of the new music coming out tomorrow. You'll be seeing my review on all the new music either tomorrow or on Wednesday letting you know about all the great rock music coming out. I also plan on getting top countdowns up pretty soon. It's hard cause i'm trying to make three different lists because it's hard to compare ballads and hard rock songs to each other and decide which is better if they are so different. So I'm going to do three seperate countdowns. 1. Soft 2. Medium 3. Hard. If your looking for some great ballads that have come out this year check out the soft countdown. If your looking for some hard hitting rock songs check out the Hard countdown. And if your looking for something kinda in the middle like Daughtry "No Surprise" I guess is a good example, then check out the medium countdown. I'm really excited to put these together and they should be up by the end of the week and they will be updated every week. Be back tomorrow for the new music!

Let's Start With Some Bands You May Not Know, But You Need To Know
Danko Jones - This band is awesome. Especially if you are into any kind of old school tounge and cheek rock n roll. If you check this band out I suggest you check out their album "we sweat blood". It is an amazing album with great guitar riffs and he has a very unique voice to go along with it. Check out the songs "Forget My Name", "Sound of Love", and "Baby Hates Me" from their "Sleep is the Enemy" CD
Skillet - Skillet is a band that is hopefully starting to get a lot more recognition. Their lead singer has an amazing voice and their album "Comatose" is, beginning to end, one of the best albums i've ever heard. They have a great balance of hard hitting rock songs and slower melodic ballads. If you ever get the chance i'm begging you to check out the songs, "Comatose", "Say Goodbye", and "Rebirthing". While your at it, check out their brand new single "Hero" that was just released as a single yesterday. I strongly recommend that you check it out.
The Fratellis - This band is very fun to listen to and has a very old school sound. A lot of their songs are very very catchy especially on their newest album "Here We Stand". "Acid Jazz Singer" was one of my favorite songs from last year and "Tell Me A Lie" was also a standout for me.
These are 3 that I decided to go in depth on. Other bands you should really check out are The Hush Sound, Another Black Day, Sick Puppies, Black Stone Cherry, SafetySuit, Tickle Me Pink, Charm City Devils, Single File, We Shot The Moon, and Thousand Foot Krutch
And just so everyone knows. I am going to updating this blog every tuesday, when the new music releases come out and let you know what you should check out, and what you should stay away from. I'm also going to attempt to start my own current top 25 so please keep checking back soon and I'm going to make sure I keep this blog rock n rolling....

Hopefully The Start of Something Exciting
Hey Everyone!!!,
My Name is Phillip. Let me give you a little backround about myself. I'm 21 years old and I live in good old New York State (and no it's nothing like the city). I feel that every person on this earth is born with some sort of passion. Something that they can turn to no, matter what mood they are in, to escape everything and put their heart and soul into. For me, that one thing is without a doubt Modern Rock. Let me give you a little backround about why I have become such a big fan of Modern Rock. The first band I ever heard in my life was The Beatles. I was born and raised on Beatle songs and I will always have a place in my heart for that band because they are easily the best band that ever lived. My whole family was obsessed with them. Part of me always wanted to be different than my family though. I never was into liking the same things that everybody else liked because it just wasn't me to be like everybody else. So I started to look at other things to listen to. I had my Tom Petty phase. My Led Zepplin Phase. My Scorpions Phase. I even (really hate to say this) had a long phase where I listened to Rap music. One thing remained consistent through all of these phases, and that is the fact that I loved music and will always love music. Like with everything else, when you start to love something, you start to appreciate people who have talent in that field. My generation of people my age aren't exposed much to bands that actually have a lot of talent. All you see on TV are rap, and dance and pop songs. Rap is lyrically talented i guess but I'm sorry, there is no musical talent at all involved when all you do is talk on stage to a beat playing in the backround that you probably didn't even create. Pop music is very frustrating too because I feel like if you don't have the ability to write your own songs or even perform those songs live without lip singing to it, then you are not a talented musician and that songs shouldn't even belong to you. For years and years i've been watching people left and right become famous and not deserving it while bands with real talent stand by and don't get any recognition. I am a hardcore Modern Rock fan and I know a lot of talent that a lot of people don't know about. Now....I do not know every single local act of every town. But if a band has released an album on record withing the last 5 or 6 years then I probably know them. If I don't I'm relying on people to shed some light on some bands so I can talk about them and maybe give them some recognition too. I am going to be updating this blog very often. Whenever a new song comes out or I discover a new band that I feel is really good I'm going to talk about them. I really just want some bands to get recognized more than they do and I feel like creating this blog will help. I'm hoping this blog becomes almost like a community where people can help each other out to help make these bands household names. My tastes are pretty diverse. I like anything from Disturbed to The White Stripes to Jack Johnson. I love things that sound Old School like The Fratellis. and I love things that are Pure Modern like Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin. I even delve into some hardcore once in a while with American Head Charge or Atreyu, and I even have some very unique tastes like Family Force Five.
